Cypripedium fasciculatum  (Clustered Lady's Slipper Orchid)
Orchidaceae  (Orchid Family)  (William Weber places this species in the Cypripediaceae Family.)

Montane. Aspen, Spruce, and Fir.

Linnaeus named this genus in 1753 and Kellogg named the species in 1882.

"Cypripedium" is from the Greek words "Kypris" ("Venus", the goddess of love), and "pes" (“foot”). "Venus' foot" has evolved to "Lady's Slipper". "Fascicualtum", from the Latin, "fasciculus" means a “little bundle”, and refers to the clustering of the flowers.
