Alexandre Victorin named this plant in 1927.  Its pinnae are highly variable in shape and size.  The plant grows from one to four inches tall.  It is fairly common through central Colorado and is found in most western states.

"Minganense" is for the Mingan Islands of Quebec where this Moonwort was first found and described.
