Botrychium campestre

Home Next

Wagner and Farrar named this rare plant in 1986. The plant grows one to two inches tall.  It is found in the northern tier of central and western states, but is critically imperiled (S1) in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

"Campestre", Latin for "of fields", i.e., "prairie", refers to the location where the plant was first found and described and its typical location.
